Jasmine Lace Stitch – A Unique Crochet Technique

A remarkable stitch technique that looks like a two-dimensional Jasmine Stitch, but without the puff!

I’m really excited to present to you a beautiful and classy stitch technique that is inspired by the Jasmine Stitch, but the result looks like a floral lace pattern!

Once you get confident with this technique, you can start practicing it by crocheting a quick and small project, like my bookmark pattern, that uses this Jasmine Lace stitch!

A unique stitch technique that is inspired by the Jasmine Stitch.

About This Project

This project is a sample pattern of a new stitch technique that I’ve come up with. It has a beautiful floral and lacy feel to it, and it can be added to any larger project to create an overall beautiful design.

There are countless creative uses for it, but the most obvious ones that come to mind are making a classy and airy headband, shawl or bandana!

This post also has a video tutorial that demonstrates how to crochet with this technique so you can apply it to whatever project you’d like!

You can also find a PDF pattern below of the crochet Jasmine Lace Bookmark that is the perfect starter project to practice this stitch!

Skill Level

For intermediate level crocheters.

Abbreviation Used

  • CH – chain (yarn over, pull loop through)
  • Tr3tog- triple crochet three together. In this pattern, three ch sts take the place of one tr
  • YO- yarn over

Pattern Direction

Row 1: *ch4. Work a Tr3tog in the 4th ch from hook, but count the other 3 ch sts as the first tr. This means that you will start two other Tr sts, yo, and draw the loop through all three loops on your hook* repeat until you reach the desired width, and then repeat one more time.

Row 2: ch4, start a Tr3tog in to the 4th ch from the hook, counting the other three ch sts as a Tr, but do not yo and finish the stitch.

Go back to the ch st that your last finished Tr3tog is worked in to, and work two more unfinished Tr, then, do the same thing in the ch st before that(skipping over one more finished Tr3tog. Yo and draw the loop through all 7 loops on your hook.

*ch4, start a Tr3tog in to the 4th ch from the hook, counting the other three ch sts as a Tr, but do not yo and finish the stitch.

work two more unfinished Tr into the next ch in row 1, and then two more in the one following that. Yo and draw the loop through all 7 loops on your hook.*

Repeat until you have worked into the very edge of the row(in row 2, this means working into the very first ch you did again).

Turn. Then, in lieu of a turning chain, ch4 and work a Tr3tog in to the 4th ch from hook, again counting the other 3sts as tr sts.

Repeat row two until you have the desired length.
