With the summer months getting warmer, it’s the perfect opportunity to start looking through simple and elegant summer tops to crochet!
Hello summer! I’ve decided to put together a list of six beautiful summer tops that are beginner-friendly and enjoyable to crochet.
I specifically chose classy designs that are a mix of Amelia Makes patterns and other professional crocheters that I guarantee you would want to make right away.
What I love most about making crochet tops is they can be done for multiple reasons and for any special occasion. If you have a best friend’s birthday, these summer tops are light, breezy and perfect to wear on a warm day.
All of these patterns that you’ll see are simple and gives a touch of elegance whether paired with jeans or loose summer pants.

1. The Dogwood Top
The Dogwood top is one of my all time favorite projects to make over the summer. This design was inspired by the Dogwood Trees that you usually see in spring time in the east coast of the U.S.
It’s a light, adds a touch of sophistication to anything you put on, and has a really easy to customize design. This top takes quite a lot of flowers (which gives it the cute charm) and they work up in only two rounds.
2. Summer Ties Tank Top
This charming summer top is not only fun to create but also perfect for beginners. Its comfort and simplicity make it an ideal addition to your wardrobe for sunny days.
3. Peplum Summer Top

This adorable summer top is perfect to wear on a summer day with jeans (pants or shorts). This free pattern has easy to follow instructions and is made for ambitious beginners!
4. Flamingo Tank – Summer Top

This stylish crochet top is written for 9 sizes: XS-5X and is an adorable top that can be paired with loose summer pants.
5. The Indian Summer Tank Top

This cute colorful vest top is great for crochet beginners, and is quick to make. It can also be warn in all times of the year (put on a cardigan over it when it gets cold). Note that this free pattern is only offered in size small.
6. San Fior Summer Crop Top

This elegant summer crop top has vibrant colors which bring out the floral summer vibes. I would consider this to be a more intermediate to advanced level project and very rewarding when you’ve completed it!
