Adorable Crochet Cow – Free Pattern

A cute sitting crochet cow with a pink muzzle that makes a perfect DIY gift for any special occasion!

How adorable is this sitting crochet cow? Whenever I see a stuffed animal, I always think about how much fun it would be to crochet one. Especially a cow because that cute pink muzzle and those fun distinctive cow spots give it such personality.

They make for great gifts too, whether it’s a loved one’s baby shower, your kids or grandkids, nieces and nephews. If I think about it, this is one of those gifts that loved ones will always keep around for the fond memory of the love and joy that went into making something for them.

I still have the crocheted sweater my grandma made for me when I was just a  kid, sentimentality can run very deep!

About the Crochet Cow Free Pattern

Amigurumi animal patterns have been on my mind for the last year now because I know they are so much fun to make when you have clear instructions that are easy to follow. And it’s guaranteed that when you see the end result, you won’t help but smile at your creation!

I decided to start with this crochet cow because I’ve always loved how adorable they looked and more importantly, it’s a good project to start with as all the pieces use the same basic stitch and at the end of each piece, you’ll just need to assemble the whole body by sewing it all together.

Note: If you’re just starting off in your crochet journey and would like to get started with crocheting amigurumi patterns, start by reading my article on the six basic stitches to learn as a beginner. These basic stitches are important for you to learn before moving forward with this project.

As you’ll see in the directions below, each piece is worked in rounds of the single crochet stitch (part of the basic stitches) and you’ll also need to know how to make a slip stitch for this project.

The only additional knowledge you’ll need to know for this project is sewing the pieces together. The good thing is, it will take you a few minutes to learn!

You’ve probably notice that this is the FIRST amigurumi pattern that’s been made at Amelia Makes! There’s something about these cute and furry crochet animals that get me inspiration to start making them.

So keep an eye out for more amigurimi patterns in the future.
