About the Crochet Ruffle Flower
Gauge
The official gauge for this floral series, including today’s project, is 10 rows and 9 stitches for 2x2in using dk yarn and an e/3.5mm hook.
It is NOT critical to exactly match that gauge in order to successfully crochet the ruffle flower, but that is the official gauge for anyone who might be interested.
You can always experiment with crocheting this flower in different weights of yarn other than dc. However, I would personally recommend keeping your hook size small enough (compared to your yarn) that the stitches stay fairly tight, so that your daisy doesn’t turn out floppy and loose.
Sizing
Made with the yarn and hook size that have originally been used, the ruffle flower is 1.5 inches across.
Feel free to play with using other yarn sizes and/or hook sizes to get flowers that are larger or smaller.
Materials Needed
For each tiny flower that you’d like to crochet, you will need:
- DK yarn- each ruffle flowers 4 yards for color 1(for the petals) and less than a yard of color 2(for the center).
- An E/3.5mm hook
- Scissors
- A tapestry needle(this is optional, but good for weaving in ends.
