Hops The Crochet Bunny With a Carrot- Free Pattern

Meet Hops, my little crochet bunny! This pattern is enjoyable to make for advanced beginners and can be given as meaningful gift to a loved one

Say hello to Hops! This adorable bunny (who doesn’t go anywhere without his carrot of course), is such a fun amigurumi project to make. It makes the perfect gift idea to give during Easter or any other time of the year.

With the adorable pink tail and the little pink patches in his inner rabbit ears, this project is a sentimental gift to make for a best friend’s baby shower or birthday.

Cute crochet bunny holding a carrot

The added touch of the little crochet carrot reminds me of my childhood pet bunny who kept munching away with his carrot. And let’s face it, it makes this little amigurumi that much cuter!

About Hops the Crochet Bunny with His Carrot Pattern

As a kid, I loved spending time with my pet animals. One of my favorites was named Hops, my pet bunny! He was dark grey (just like the crochet bunny above) and oh did he love his belly!

This pattern is dedicated to Hops, and brought so many great memories when making it. I also added the little touch of pink on his tail and inside his ears to make it even more adorable!

Since there are two parts to this crochet project (the bunny and the carrot), I like to start by making the head and ears of the rabbit. You feel much more excited and inspired when you start to see its cute little face.

As for the carrot, I like to save that for last. It’s easier to picture how the carrot will look and how to place it after you have the finished product of the amigurumi.

Note: If you’re just starting off in your crochet journey and would like to get started with crocheting amigurumi patterns, start by reading my article on the six basic stitches to learn as a beginner.

Project challenge: The challenging part of this project is making the leaves of the carrot. It uses the same technique that is used to make a spiral crochet. Stay tuned on a tutorial for that to come in the near future!

Just before we get started with the pattern, it’s important to note that all the pieces (including the carrot) are worked in the rounds of single crochet stitch.
